Cash for Clunkers a Success?????

Well that all depends on who you ask. In efforts to boost the economy and car sales the government allowed car dealerships to allow consumers to trade their cars in for approx. $4500 when they may have been worth a lot less, and in turn the government will issue the dealership a check for the promotion. Great idea, huh?...Well there were a lot of cars sold around the country and the dealerships who participanted in the programed that ended 8-24-09, were overall very happy, but now they must wait for their money from the government which could be a while. Although the dealers are happy with the outcome, some of the general public thinks it was just another poor choice made by the President, and feel he is not managing the country correctly. I think a lot people are confused on the what the program was for...it was in place to help the seller and the consumer...ie, the economy. It was to encourage someone with an older vehicle to trade it in for a new more fuel efficient vehicle, which in turn would save on gas as well as repairs, which means less out of pocket on that. Also, with more cars sold this would call for more production at manufacturing plants, and decrease the layoff rate. Maybe its the people who didn't participate or didn't qualify that are mad. Maybe it's the anit-Obama people that are nagging, but as long as no one ask me to pay their car payment i'm good!
